Privacy Policy

Smoor is operated by Meraki Network Ltd. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Smoor, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Smoor is built to quiet the phone, not watch the person holding it. We have kept this policy as short as we reasonably can. If anything is not clear, write to studio@merakinetwork.co.uk and we will explain it.

1. Who we are

Meraki Network Ltd is the data controller for the personal information covered by this policy. We are registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is Monomark House, 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX.

For data questions, write to studio@merakinetwork.co.uk.

2. What stays on your phone

Smoor’s core activity happens on your device.

The apps you choose, when you smoor, how long you stay quiet, which trigger you use, your Smoored Focus settings, your Screen Time activity, and your browsing are not collected, transmitted, or visible to us.

Smoor uses Apple’s Screen Time technology, which is designed so that apps like ours do not see the names of the apps you choose. Smoor has no analytics, profiling, advertising trackers, or usage telemetry.

3. What we collect, and why

During setup, Smoor may invite you to share a preferred name and an email address. This is optional. Smoor works the same way whether or not you share them.

We use your name and email only for Smoor-related communication: setup help if needed, important product updates, pricing or access changes, and changes to our terms or privacy policy. We process this information on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or by writing to us.

We do not use this for advertising, profiling, or unrelated marketing.

Alongside your email, we record the app version and the date you consented. This is the minimum we need to manage consent responsibly.

Your contact details are not connected to how you use Smoor: not your chosen apps, not your Screen Time activity, not your browsing, not your Smoored state, and not your triggers.

4. Who handles data for us

Buttondown handles optional Smoor emails. We use double opt-in, so we do not send emails until you confirm through your inbox.

Cloudflare runs our website and handles routine security and performance logs for it.

These services process data for us, not for their own advertising or tracking purposes. Buttondown is based in the United States. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take steps to protect it in line with UK data protection law.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your contact details for as long as you are subscribed.

When you unsubscribe, your details are removed from active email sending. If you want them deleted entirely, write to studio@merakinetwork.co.uk and we will delete them within 30 days, unless we are required to keep limited records for legal or security reasons.

6. Your rights

UK data protection law gives you rights over your personal information. You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, send you a copy, restrict our use of it, or withdraw consent.

Email studio@merakinetwork.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you came to us first, so we can try to put it right.

7. Changes

We will update this page if Smoor’s practices change. The date below tells you when it was last updated.

If a change affects what personal information we collect, or how we use it, we will email subscribers before it takes effect.
